Care
A latex pillow is kept clean through its cover. The sellers we read say to wash the cover and spot clean the latex.
How is a latex pillow maintained?
Wash the cover, spot clean the core, and let the latex dry fully before the cover goes back on.
One maker says the latex core should not be machine washed and should be spot cleaned and air dried (Avocado). Another asks owners to take its Talalay core out before washing the rest of the pillow (Mattress Clarity). A kit seller warns that sun and machine washing shorten the life of shredded latex (DIY Natural Home).
Can a latex pillow be refilled?
A shredded one can, from loose shred sold by the bag. A solid core cannot, so it has to be replaced when it sits too low.
One maker ships its shredded pillows full and tells owners to keep any fill they take out (Savvy Rest). Our guide to shredded versus solid latex covers refilling and fluffing.
How long does a latex pillow last?
No study we found settles it. Written warranties give a floor instead, and they range from 1 to 5 years.
The warranties we read ran from one year (Avocado) through 3 years (PlushBeds) to 5 years (Sleep On Latex). One maker recommends replacing its pillow every 36 months (Mattress Clarity). Replace a pillow when it no longer holds the height it was set to.
